"quitching" of aunt clara

this is my progress of "quitching" aunt claras quilt the last two days,i am really satisfied with this result and it is much fun to do it,happy stitching to you all,susi

dear friends,i thought to do the quilting like this,looks nearly like a crazy quilt.i will use pearlcotton thread number 8 in multicoloured yellow.

aunt claras quilt top is finished

my dear friends,since this afternoon is aunt claras quilt top finished,i wonder how to quilt it now,or maybe some embroidery only around the squares in the middle of the hexagons? batting or not?i have still the pdf-file,if someone wants it just e-mail me.until now i have sent 149 mails!

aunt claras border

i began on two sides with the border on aunt claras quilt, the original quilt has no border , and i am not quite sure if mine should have it,but i like this windham fabric so much, it reminds me so much of my so beloved greatgrandmother,she wore clothes of such fabric,what do you think?

row 8 is finished,but there is still a row 9 to sew.i made my templates for this quilt a bit smaller,because i wanted to use my 5" scraps for the diamonds,si if i want this quilt as big as the original i have to sew at least one more row,maybe two,have a nice sunday all you out there,susi

dear friends,aunt clara is growing while we are looking at the football matches in south africa,i think i will make the quilt 2,10x2,10 meters square,and then i am thinking about the border,

row number seven is finally done

dear friends outthere,number seven is done but there are 3 or 4 more rows to sew and of course they become bigger and bigger,but...

look what i bought a few days ago

i found it on ebay,and it was in my mail a few days ago.isn`t it cute.seems to be really old,look at the two pincushions.i love old sewing supplies so much,and sometimes i cannot resist to buy such things.
