a very icecold week in denmark,a finish and a little progress

hi friends,i am back again. we have been a week in denmark with my youngest daughter and our two little grandchildren,there was not much sewing possible,but playing with my grandchildren is a very good thing too,being home again i finished quilting the octagon quilt,and i have sewn 5 rows of little houses together,yesterday was the birthday of my brother in law, my son and my grandson,we had a good time,have a nice rest of the week,susi

what`s going on at my sewingroom

hi friends,there are three new wonderful books in my home,a little sneak peek of the quilting of the octagon quilt,i have quilted nearly two thirds of it with pearl cotton thread in the colour natural white,and a bunch of quite a few more little houses.my houses mesure 5"square,and i will need 121 or maybe 144,i don`t know yet,but it is very fun to sew them,have a nice week,susi

my octagon quilt top is finished

here you can see my octagon quilt top,it measures 2,30x 2,30 m,it is sewn by hand and because i had so much leftovers from the clamshell quilt i made a border of 480 hexagons around it, have a nice rest of the week,susi

it is so much fun to sew these little houses,and i found a little piece of fabric with rain on it,i think it was a debbie mumm design,today we had all our four grandchildren here for eating pancakes, have a nice week,susi

building houses from scraps 1+2

hello friends,these are my first two little houses build of scraps,the one on the right was the first one i made in english paper piecing ,it is 5"square and i needed one and a half hour to sew it,the second one on the left took me just half an hour because i appliqued the door and the window afterwards,when the block was pieced,have a nice rest of the week,susi

first finish in 2012

my first finish in 2012: the clamshell quilt is handquilted,it has 902 clamshells sewn by hand and is 2,20x 2,40 m big, i am satisfied with how it looks,have a nice first week of the year 2012 ,susi
